"Christian, remember your dignity!"
Pope St. Leo the Great
Pope Francis has established a special Year of St. Joseph which began on December 8, 2020, the 150th anniversary of the Decree of the proclamation Quemadmodum Deus which declared St. Joseph the Patron of the Catholic Church until December 8, 2021.
We will have the opportunity to commit ourselves, with prayer and good works, to obtain, with the help of St. Joseph, head of the heavenly Family of Nazareth, comfort and relief from the serious human social tribulations that besiege the contemporary world today (cf. Decree). With God's grace, "each of us can discover in Joseph - the man who goes unnoticed, a daily, discreet and hidden presence - an intercessor, a support and a guide in times of trouble. St. Joseph reminds us that those who appear hidden or in the shadows can play an incomparable role in the history of salvation" (Patris Corde, intro.).
Also, the Apostolic Penitentiary kindly bestows the gift of Indulgences during the Year of St. Joseph which will contribute greatly to the accomplishment of the purpose of this special Year. Please see the Decree for more information on the Plenary Indulgence.
